About Us

Working together - all for God's glory

Welcome to Calvary International Baptist Church. We are a church comprised of Multilingual, Multi-ethnic, and multi-generational people who are serious about growing in our faith, making disciples of Jesus Christ, and reaching our city and the world with the truth of the Gospel. Our mission/vision statement is "developing hearts for God, His Word, each other, and beyond."

Old Globe

Our Story

Calvary International Baptist Church has a rich Baptist heritage. We were planted in 1958 by missionaries from the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, currently the International Mission Board (IMB). CIBC grew from a church plant into a self-sustaining church with a commitment to reaching and serving the international peoples of Bangkok and its surrounding areas. In 2017, Calvary Baptist Church added the "International" designation to its name becoming, Calvary International Baptist Church (CIBC), to reflect the composition of the church family. CIBC's core group is an English speaking congregation and the worship service is conducted in English. However, on any Sunday there are, as many as, 20 nationalities present worshiping together in this service. In addition to the English service, we have 4 language specific ministries. These CIBC "language specific churches" are the Nepali, Thai, Burmese, and Karen congregations, and services are conducted in their native languages. CIBC is a member of both the Thailand Baptist Convention (สหคริสตจักรแบ๊บติสต์ในประเทศไทย/ and the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention. We are in general agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000. The facilities you will see when visiting CIBC were constructed in the early 1960s and have been well maintained.
